It was a sunny, beautiful day when Rosie Ornelas Meza completed her earthly journey and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 9, 2022. Rosie was born on February 14th, 1947, in Bakersfield, California to Esteban Ornelas and Juanita Nunez. She was married to her husband Robert for 56 years. For those who knew Rosie, she was a joy to be around and always gave you her whole heart. Her kind spirit and generous heart always made you feel welcomed. In her spare time, you would find her in the backyard cultivating flowers or working on projects, she enjoyed arts and crafts, and collecting seashells and sand dollars on the beach. Rosie loved children and devoted many years teaching catechism at Our Lady of Guadalupe church and touched the hearts of many children, friends, and families. Most of all she enjoyed going out on recreational adventures and seafood dinners with her two favorite sisters Nellie and Mary. Her favorite thing in the world, however, was her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She always said that children brought love and laughter into a home. She loved the Lord and strived to serve Him in all aspects of her life. We will miss her beautiful smile, laughter, and charismatic spirit every day.
She is survived by her husband Robert Meza Sr. and four children, Donna Weber (Shawn), Julie Munguia (Andy), Robert Meza Jr. (Elie), Louie Meza; her eight grandchildren; Justine, Kyle, Ryan, Nicolette, Josette, Jordan, Cameron, Caleb; and her great grandchildren; Kylie, Mila and Blake.
A visitation for Rosie will be held Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 5:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2140 N. Cedar Ave, Fresno, CA 93703, A rosary service will follow at 6:00 PM, a visitation will occur Monday, February 28, 2022 from 9:00 AM, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by a mass at 10:00 AM. A committal service will occur Monday, February 28, 2022 from 12:00 PM at Golden Sunset Memorial Park, 310 S. Goldenrod Ave, Kerman, CA 93630.
