He worked for the City of Fresno Street Department for 32 years.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Leonard and Robert Vigil and sister Ruby Gutierrez.
He is survived by Ida Vigil, his wife of 58 years; his son, Michael and wife Karla; his daughters, Marie Vigil; Michelle Manjarrez and husband David; Marlene Smith and husband Rick; 5 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren, and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Thursday, July 28, 2011 starting 10:00 a.m. follow by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John's Cathedral on Friday, July 29, 2011, at 9:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peters Cemetery.
