Sada Mooshagian was born in Alexandropol, (now known as Gyrumri) a province of Shirak in the Country of Armenia on April 27, 1923 to the union of Ardashes (Arthur) and Grapion (Grace) Mooshagian.
Sada traveled as an infant with her parents, Aunt, Uncle and two cousins thru Italy where Brother John was born, then Ensenada,Mexico where Sister Sara was born, then Tijuana, Mexico where Brother Art was born. They were able to get their immigration papers after four to five years and the family was allowed entrance into the United States where Brother Ray was born. They lived in an area close to Boyle Heights, commonly known as The Flats, where a big congregation of Armenians had settled. Sada went to Fourth Street Elementary School in Los Angeles and never forgot her favorite teacher, Miss Love, who took a genuine interest in helping her accelerate with the English language and her studies.
Sada was a member of Immanuel Armenian Congregational Church in Los Angeles where her & her siblings were in the Church Choir and belonged to Christian Endeavor. From a very young age, Sada loved the Lord and always put her trust in Him.
The family put down roots in the suburbs of Norwalk and Downey area. Sada finished her education and graduated with honors at Excelsior High School in Norwalk, California. After graduation, she held several office administration positions working in the Construction and Mortgage Industry. Her penchant for perfection proved to be a great asset to her workplace.
Sada married the love of her life, Norman Nubar Danielian on February 9, 1957 and relocated to Fresno. They had two daughters, Norma Lynn and Janet Diane. Sada was a loving and devoted wife and mother and spent many years on the PTA & Girl Scouts. She went to work after her girls got older at Thomas, Snell Law Firm where she worked for 20 years until her retirement in 1991. Sada loved to shop, she would take her girls downtown to the Fulton Mall for shopping and dinner. She was a great cook, entertainer, Pilaf Extraordinaire, avid reader and crossword Queen. Sada loved to garden and work in her yard, she could spend the whole day working outdoors and her backyard gardens were gorgeous.
Sada and Norm had many great travel memories to Hawaii, Pismo Beach, and the Bay Area where they would visit Norma & Gene. After Norman passed away in 2008, Sada lived with Janet up until the time of her death. What stories she would share! She made it known that she was still “in charge”. She had her hair and nails done up until the end and if you weren’t wearing lipstick she would tell you about it. Daily she would sing her favorite hymns remembering all the words and loved it when everyone would join in with her. Sometimes she would sing them in Armenian and sometimes in Spanish. She always had a smile on her face and would make the best out of any situation. She was the last of the Mooshagian-era.
Surviving Sada, is her daughter Norma & son in law, Eugene Haynes of Clovis, & Janet Danielian of Clovis, and two grand doggies, Gucci & Hank. Sada left behind many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. She had special relationships with all of them.
Sada was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Norman, her brothers, John, Art, and Ray and her sister, Sara.
We give much love and thanks to Sada’s caregivers who also became part of our family, Gloria Chavez, Regina Orosco and Karine Khalatyan. Their love and compassion will never be forgotten.
