I will always treasure the memories we spent together going to family reunions and gatherings to Elk Grove .

We had so much fun stopping at Carl’s Jr. at Fairfield on our way to Elk Grove it was the highlight of our trips , ordering those amazing awesome juicy burgers , you and my mom loved . I will keep cherishing theses memories forever.

Another tradition I had with my Tia Sandy was sending her greetings cards for all occasions thru out the year . She would call me with such excitement I was so pleased to hear from her all the time . I will truly miss that but maybe I can continue it with her daughter / granddaughter . She was one of a kind and I was bless to have her as my aunt . She showed me how to be strong when my mom passed and I will always be grateful . I love you Tia Sandy . Thank you for being part of my life .

A poem for Sandy. She has taught me and given me so much love. I love you and will always have you in my heart.

From the earth you came
and brought forth
warmth, strength,
and benevolence
You taught all those around you
to embrace and respect
the world that sustains
your children
Time has caught up
You have now returned to the
Earth from once you came
We grieve, but all is not lost
Your memories and teachings
are sprouting in the gardens
You have nourished
We must continue
your Love and Tenderness
It is our duty to share
the wisdom
you have passed on
Thank you
for all that you have given us

“Anybody home? “ echoes through the cracked window of my house that is the sound of my aunt’s voice that I will miss ! Through out my childhood and adult life that is how she announced her presence when she arrived at my house. My aunt was the closest sister my mother had and during my mom’s illness and passing my aunt was along side her . She was there when she took her last breath. My aunt was with me during the darkness and hardest time of my life and I will forever be grateful . For 10 months, she didn’t leave her sister’s side. During that time, I had the opportunity to know her better - she was my buddy and I drew strength from her. I was in awe on how remarkably strong she was and how she viewed life - She LIVED life and embraced all the complexities of LIVING with a positive disposition. I learned so much about her during that period. I smile now when I see her sitting on my “stability ball” and she looked at me and said I was just curious on how it felt to sit on it. She never lost wonder - wanted to always explore- we had many adventures together- driving around , drinking coffee at cafes and watching late night movies...... so many wonderful memories. I LOVE YOU TIA- you were the BEST aunt and a LOVINGLY sister to my mom!

My aunt always lived in the moment, she NEVER waited for tomorrow. She always joined our family festivities, always laughing, always dancing and ready to sit and talk to you. Thank you for being a constant in our lives and for being a wonderful sister to my dad. I will miss you tia, but I know in my heart that you are in the presence of our Lord; young, without a care , in peace and in the company of your family ..... and my papi 💕
