Sharon Buchanan

Sherry was born and raised in Fresno where she attended and graduated from Fresno High School and Fresno City College.

Sherry married Terry Flanagan in 1960. Together they raised two children, residing in Fresno for 42 years until his death in 2002. Sherry spent a 34 year career in the cotton industry retiring in 2003 as traffic and office manager of Cargill Cotton.

Sherry was active in numerous children's and business organizations including Nutritional Home Auxiliary, San Joaquin Children's Guild, Valley Children's Guidance Clinic League, Children's Home Society Littlest Angels, Cub Scouts, Indian Maidens, International Order of DeMolay and Job's Daughters. Sherry was past president of Women's Transportation Club of Fresno and Fresno Women's Trade Club.

Sherry married Dale Buchanan in 2006. Together they had the pleasure of spending a lot of their retirement on the coast at their favorite place at Pismo.

She is preceded in death by Terry Flanagan, her husband of 42 years.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Dale Buchanan; her son, Rex Flanagan and his wife Shirley of Fresno; her daughter, Tracy Flanagan and partner Nate Tynan of San Francisco; two grandchildren, Tommy and Megan Flanagan of Fresno; two stepchildren, David Buchanan and Tracy Beberian; and three step-grandchildren, Katie, Emily, and Sara Beberian, all of Fresno.

A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at 10:00 a.m.
