Sharon Koop (Foss) grew up in Durango, CA (and Ojai, CA). She grew up going to church, hiking, and traveling in the Rockies and the west coast. Then in high school, she moved to Bakersfield, CA. In 1968, she graduated from Bakersfield High School; four years later she received her B.S. from California Baptist College in Southern California - majoring in Biology.
She moved to Fresno, CA and got married to Frank Koop. In Fresno, she worked as a Clinical Lab Scientist for 25 years at Fresno Community Hospital. During this time, she did a lot of hiking, cross country skiing, and traveling within the US. Later in her 30s, she had two children — Josh and Caleb Koop. They enjoyed traveling as a family and Sharon especially enjoyed hiking, skiing and camping.
Sharon Koop passed in her home in Fresno, Ca. There will be a graveside service at Fresno Memorial Gardens on Monday, July 22, 2024 @9AM. She was 73 years old and is survived by her son Josh Koop and grandson Caleb Koop. She was a woman of faith and a devoted Christian.
