It’s with deep sadness to announce the sudden passing of our Mom/Mimi, Shirley Lynn Berg, Sunday July 2, 2023, at the age of 76, while surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mom, Mimi, daughter, sister and friend. Shirley was born December 30, 1946 in Merced, Ca. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Charles & Hazel Williams and husband of 52 years, Harold A. Berg.
Shirley graduated from Roosevelt High School, in 1964, where her love for Elvis & music grew. She married the love of her life Harold A. Berg on December 6, 1969. Together they have two daughters Heidi Berg and Susan Berg Flores married to Wayne Flores. Shirl’s granddaughters, Kadee Gomez (32), Hallie Breshears (21), Tayler Breshears (20) and Bergin Flores (15). Two great-grandchildren Jocelynn (8) and Jonathan (7). As well as her brother, Fred Williams of Clovis.
She had a lot of specialties. Sewing was her niche. Whether it be her girls clothes, baby blankets, Raggedy Ann dolls or just a quick hem. She also Quilted with her grandmothers. As another craft she made porcelain dolls with her best friend. Being the best homemaker, baking chocolate chip cookies for Hal and the kids was her favorite. And we can not forget Mimi’s famous potato salad.
Shirley was a soccer mom/coach/manager for her daughters teams. She loved bowling with Hal and on her women’s league where she also was on the board. Shirl loved to travel the world with Hal. She was Commodore in 2009 for the Bass Lake Boat Club and Secretary for several years. She had so much fun planning their monthly party's. Our Mom loved to be out on the boat for hours. She loved her animals. Shirl was a dedicated mother and wife. She exceeded all expectations with her love in her role as Mimi.
Our moms passion was to be an incredible wife, mom, Mimi and friend to many. She never missed a game, dance recital or special event. She was always there, with no hesitation. Without a doubt, Shirl missed Hal terribly. Our parents/Papa & Mimi shared an incredible life together. It gives us comfort knowing they are now reunited like God intended.
She had the most heartfelt welcome that made you feel her warm embrace immediately. Your unconditional love and your doting ways will forever leave an impression in our hearts.
“Then they who are alive, shall be caught up together into the clouds with them who remain, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we be ever with the Lord.”
