I have known Shirley since 1979.  During that time I have so many fond memories of her.  I will never forget her nickname for me "Popolo".  I love her.  She always had a wonderful smile and hug for Craig and I.  Craig would make her hot buttered rums which she loved.  I will never forget all the wonderful memories that we had on the 30 + years on The Reno trips.  I will also never forget that even during her time being sick she still had the time and energy to make me an afghan which I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Shirley sas my sister-in-law, but after nearly a half century, was more like my sister.  Shirley was a principled, industrious, independent woman and instilled those same qualities in her children. Although her passing has left a void in our hearts that only time can fill, the legacy she leaves behind,through her children and their children, will endure many lifetimes.

Shirley was always there for me, she was more than just a sister, she was my best friend, I will always remember her and love her.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Shirley at the Central Testing Center in Fresno and I have a lot of good memories of Shirley. My favorite was when we went to the Clint Black Concert at the Paul - Paul Theater. Shirley had a good sense of humor and I enjoyed being around her.

Together we mourn the loss of another vital and primary part of our family.  Aunt Shirley, you are missed, loved, and forever in the minds and hearts of those who knew you.

Grandma was an amazing woman. She loved crocheting, animals, gardening and most of all her family and friends. She was a strong wise woman that not only I, but many will greatly miss. We were so blessed to have her in our lives and her memory will live on through all the wonderful memories she gave us all.

We live in a world where families live far apart from each other.  So it was with my upbringing.  Shirley Kahl happened to live near us as I and my sisters were growing up.  We did have real family living out of state, but Shirley was more to me than family.  Shirley was an aunt to me and my sisters.  An aunt is related by blood, Shirley was related to me and my sisters by our hearts.  Shirley was more than an aunt to me, she was a guidance, a teacher, and a true friend throughout my life. Shirley will always have a place in my heart.

Our deepest sympathies to Richard, Anthony and Stefanie.  We grew up across the street from each other and we played together, ate together, laughed together;.....Today we cry together!  We are born into this world crying, with everyone around us happy and cheerful.  We leave this world with love in our hearths and at peace, with everyone around us crying!  So it is with Mom, we will miss her dearly.  We will always remember Mom, always smiling, always cheerful.  We have been friends for a long time and enduring friendships do not fade, but are etched in our memories and in our hearts forever.
