Stella Huerta Arredondo Borrego
1954 – 2025
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Stella Huerta Arredondo Borrego, passed away peacefully at the age of 70, surrounded by her family’s love.
Stella was born to Ramon V. and Flavia H. Arredondo, who raised her with faith, strength, and a deep love for family — values she carried throughout her life. She was a proud member of OCIA and found comfort and peace in her faith, especially during life’s hardest moments.
Stella wore many hats over the years — she worked as an ESL teacher, realtor, and notary, and through each job, she made lifelong friendships. She had a natural gift for helping others and could strike up a conversation with anyone. People were drawn to her kindness, humor, and honesty.
More than anything, Stella loved being with her family. Her happiest times were spent gathered around the kitchen table, cooking big meals, telling stories, and making everyone laugh. She loved sharing memories and having deep personal conversations that shaped and inspired the people around her. Those moments will forever be treasures for all of us.
She leaves behind her four sons — Jose Jr. (Lorena), Ramon (Jennifer), Enrique (Jennifer), and Margil (Sara) — who were the pride and joy of her life. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each one of them blessed by her love and guidance. Stella is also survived by her loving husband, Michael Avila, who introduced her to new and beautiful aspects of life and shared in her later years with love and companionship. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: James Arredondo (Josie), David H. Arredondo (Linda), Daniel Arredondo, Norma A. Hinojosa (Roy), and Elizabeth Arredondo.
Stella was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Ramon V. and Flavia H. Arredondo; her husband, Jose Dela Paz Borrego; and her sister, Norilda Nunez.
Her faith, strength, and warmth touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in every shared memory, every family gathering, and every act of kindness done in her name.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in her honor at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, located at 15437 W. Kearney Blvd, Kerman, CA 93630, on November 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
