Stephen obtained a Catholic education attending both Our Lady of Victory Elementary School and San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno, California.
He worked at several Save Mart Supermarkets around the Central Valley for 25 years.
In 2012 he moved to Grants Pass, Oregon. He lived near the Rogue River. He often talked about the stunning views of the river and surrounding mountains. What he loved most was the cooler weather in Oregon as opposed to the hot Fresno temperatures. He enjoyed the fall and winters there and would send beautiful pictures to family in Fresno of the snow-covered mountains that were right outside of his home.
He was enamored by the small town with a tight-knit community, beautiful natural surroundings, and abundant outdoor recreation where he would go fishing and hunting.
Stephen enjoyed playing baseball, shooting pool, reading and working out. He was a devoted fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Rams.
Stephen had a great sense of humor. He always wanted to make people laugh and would look for the funny side of every situation.
He was best known as “Moose” by his family and friends. He leaves behind a plethora of Moose memorabilia which includes his notorious Moose signature.
Stephen is survived by his two children Gavin and Blain, daughter-in-law Brittany, three granddaughters, Desiree, Davina and Dasia, his sister Caryn, brother-in-law Scott, nieces Scarlette and Ivana, and his nephew Mick, as well as several uncles, aunts and cousins who will miss him deeply.
