As a story-teller, Steve reflected on the changes he had experienced throughout his lifetime whether it was going to town with a horse and buggy, life on the farm, or service in the military. For years, Steve could be seen at the Bob's Big Boy or Chicken Pie Shop for breakfast with newspaper in hand and signature hat on his head.
Steve served as a Master Technical Sergeant in the US Army Air Corps during WWII where he used his keen mechanical and electrical skills to keep our war planes flying. As a consummate inventor, he was credited and received a Commendation for the improvement of the instruments of the P51 Mustang. Upon returning from the war, he became co-owner of Valley Cleaners and Dye Works and Belmont Rug until his retirement.
Steve will be best remembered for his bountiful summer gardens and as the person who could fix just about anything.
