Teresa Norma Wong was born on September 9, 1966 and passed away on January 11, 2019. She was born in Lima, Peru, the youngest of five sisters and brothers and moved with her family to the United States at the age of five. She grew up in Fresno and attended Vinland Elementary, Tioga Jr. High and Hoover High School. While in high school she was a member of the gymnastics team and participated in the Asian club. After graduating from high school in 1984, she attended Fresno State University and was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.
Bitten by the travel bug in college, she chose to pursue a career with United Airlines, which allowed her to see the world from Hawaii to Shanghai to Paris. Through her 28 years with United in the San Francisco Bay Area, she worked in reservations, customer service, and at the United Club as a concierge. Many of her coworkers, who knew her as Terri, were her close friends, second family, and partners in travel. She was loved by all for her big heart, her big smile and laughter, and her sense of adventure.
A funeral service for Teresa will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 at 10:30 am at Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 "L" Street, Fresno, CA. A final resting place will occur at Clovis District Cemetery, 305 N. Villa Ave, Clovis, California 93612-0278.
