Jim was born in Lindsey, California in 1939 to Theron and Juanita Sheldon. Jim was raised in Fresno and attended Clovis High School.
At the age of 18, he married Harriet, the love of his life - a marriage that spanned over 63 years. Jim served in the Air Force and the Air National Guard as an airplane mechanic. Upon returning to civilian life, he pursued a successful carrier in the auto body industry. He was respected for being knowledgeable, having a strong work ethic and loved for his mischievous sense of humor.
Jim and Harriet resided in Fresno where they raised their two daughters. The family enjoyed many weekends camping, fishing and traveling in their camper and motorhome. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Theron and Juanita Sheldon, wife Harriet Sheldon and sister Judy Edwards.
Jim is survived by his daughters Cindy Kemple and Janet Rowe, their husbands Brian Kemple and Tim Rowe, grandchildren Chelsea Aivazian, Megan Warren, A.J. Rowe and Emily Rowe. Jim was blessed with 5 energetic great grandchildren.
A visitation time to greet the family of Jim will take place on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720 followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10 AM.
A committal service will followed immediately after the Celebration of Life Service at Clovis Cemetery District, 305 N Villa Ave, Clovis, CA 93612.
Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but Jim's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of sharing in his life.
