Thomas Edward Bailey

Tom grew up in Los Angeles, CA where he lived with his mom, dad and two brothers; Bob Jr. and Rodney. He also met his dearest friend, Frank C. They would keep tabs on each other, calling just to make sure the other one was doing ok. He went into the Army becoming an Artillery Surveillance Specialist. He told me that volunteering in the army usually isn’t a good idea but for him it worked out, he got to travel.

Upon his return and a few later, he went on a blind date with his future wife, Gay LaJuan Pierce They were married in Oildale, CA, on October 10, 1958. They were married for 65 years, had two daughters; Paula and Vickey. They had years of adventures together moving from California, after living here for 30 plus year to Texas then to Nevada. He worked in the paint sundries industries, as a sales representative for many years until he retired in 1995.

He was very creative and would share it with others. His last creative venture was making stained glass windows. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Utter and his beloved wife, Gay Bailey. He is survived by his daughter, Vickey Belmont, her husband, Scott, grandson, Noah and granddaughter, Sydney.

He will be interned at, San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery along with my mom. They will be together again.

I would like to thank Angela, Edwin, Vangie, Connie and Johnny for being able to be there when I couldn’t. For loving, praying and being a friend in the middle of the night for my dad when he needed it.

Thank you, Sydney, for going with me when it was hard, for being with me when I didn’t know I needed someone, and for helping me even when I said I was ok. My family for helping with everything, every move, from state to state. Steven, from Whitehurst for helping make this process go very smoothly.
