

ArTom was born on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1933, to Elmert and Roxie Ball Williams in Henrietta, Ok. Several years later, he and his family moved to California. They settled in Empire, California. He attended Empire Elementary school and graduated from Modesto High School in 1952.
He worked in agriculture until going into the United States Army. He served in the Korean War as a combat engineer.
Tom worked for American Potash Co. in Trona, California after his discharge from the army.
In 1957, he went to work for the California Department of Food and Agriculture. He worked from the Mexican border to the Oregon border. He retired after 37 years in 1997. He loved fishing, traveling, sports, and classic cars.
He is survived by Kathleen, his wife of 54 years; daughter, Susan Scharton; son, Thomas J. and his wife Chrissy; son, Steven and Debby Williams; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Vi Catlett of Fallon, Nv.; and nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Friday, January 10, 2014, at 1:00 p.m.rangements under the direction of Stephens & Bean Funeral Chapel, Fresno, CA.
