Although my memories spent with him as a child were so few his were very clear of me. I am so grateful to have been reintroduced to this lovely human as an adult. It takes a truly selfless spirit to unconditionally accept those not of your own blood as family. 

Grandpa Vic is one such spirit who understood, regardless of time and space, that love is part of the human condition which cannot be withheld. He gave and continues to give his love like the warmest blanket engulfing all in his orbit. AND THOSE JOKES!! fuggedaboutit!! I couldn't be around this man without cracking up. I just loved his humor, however, those who know me also know my humor is that of a 12-year-old boy, but I digress.

I just wanted to say, Grandpa, while David and I are unable to be there to send you off in sorrow with the family, know we are with you.  As we follow a more enlightened philosophy, it is our feeling that you are free of your confines, you have reached total Nirvana, and in a little time, you will begin a new journey and have a beautiful new purpose.  We are so grateful to know you now and always. We wish you well and know you will be a touchstone for Grandma Wanda and all others when they need you.

Dad you will be missed so much. I will forever remember watching you practice fastdraw in the garage, the great stories you would tell us about your youth, and how much you loved your fudge, candy, cars, and especially Wanda. 
There are so many memories like watching you turn a VW into a dune buggy. Or watching you rebuild an engine. Even playing catch with you in the backyard. 
I am so happy you and Wanda had such a great life and love for each other. I know she is going to miss you so much,

He is survived by his wife, Wanda R. Hamshar, son, Victor A. Hamshar Jr., daughters, Sherry Hernandez, Cheryl Ann Hood, Carolyn Pardue, Paula Fisher and Kathleen Hertzler, 13 grandchildren, 7 who are married, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and his 3 brothers, plus numerous of nieces and nephews.Vic was preceded in death by his son, Michael David Hamshar and two sisters.
