Vincent Jim Ganduglia passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 100 years of age. He was born to Luigi and Guiseppina Ganduglia on January 21, 1917. Vincent grew up in Fresno, CA, and married Olga Vallerino in 1941. Together they raised a son and two daughters.
Vincent established Vincent Ganduglia Trucking, his pride and joy, in 1939. From hauling produce with a single truck, Ganduglia Trucking expanded to a fleet of flatbeds, tankers, and oil spreaders. Vincent's signature green and yellow trucks are recognized throughout the state of California. He shared his love for trucks with his children, who worked by his side carrying on the family trucking tradition. Vincent retired in 1990, but remained involved in the business after the transition to the next generation.
Together with Olga, their home was always filled with family and friends. Vincent was an avid gardener and could often be found tending his towering seven foot tall tomato plants, producing vine ripened tomatoes that Olga transformed into the best tomato salad ever. They also enjoyed trips to Tahoe and local casinos. Together they lived long, healthy, happy lives.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Douglas Stanley; Dr. Dalpinder Sandhu; Home Instead Senior Care and respective staffs for their outstanding care.
Vincent is survived by his children, James F. Ganduglia, Gayle Lopopolo, and JoAnn Sturman; sons-in law, Ronald Lopopolo, and Dr. Scott Sturman; grandchildren, Dr. Christine Lopopolo, and Angela Lopopolo; their spouses, Gabriele Bisselle, and Alex Van Wingerden; and great-grandchildren, Cameron Gonzalez, Gianni Bisselle, and Olivia, Jaden, and Dallas Van Wingerden.
