Virginia was born in Rio Vista, California and passed peacefully in Fresno on Saturday, April 19, 2014 with her loving family by her side. She was the sixth of seven children born to Dick and Aznive Joseph, however she was the first child born in America as the first five children all had previously died in Armenia.
As a homemaker, Virginia enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping and being with family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Being a marvelous cook, Virginia’s table was always open, as no one ever left hungry. Virginia also worked outside the home side by side with her husband Charles, until she retired to perform her most rewarding job of caring for her granddaughters. She was also President of the PTA, President of the Eagles Auxiliary and Treasury of the Teamsters Union. Virginia graduated from Fresno High School, class of 1934.
We will miss you mom but we are at peace knowing you were greeted in heaven by your loving parents who you haven’t seen in 79 years, plus dad who you have missed for over 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her adoring husband of 55 years, Charles Horomian; her parents; and brother Haig Joseph.
Virginia is survived by her son Glenn and his wife, Irana Horomian; daughter Grace (Horomian) Schiavone and husband, Rob; granddaughters, Adriane and her husband, Adam Peter and Natalie Horomian; great-granddaughter Taylor Lewis.
