Virginia "Ginnie" was born on December 16, 1921 in Missouri. She died peacefully on the morning of December 31, 2012, with her six children surrounding her. She was married to William "Bill" Pritchard until his death in 1988. They lived in Sacramento until moving to Fresno in 1968. Always so important to Ginnie has been her faith and her church. She was actively involved with St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church for over 45 years as a faithful parishioner, a lector, a volunteer for Monday accounting as well as special projects. Ginnie was honored as a recipient of the Benemerenti awarded by the Pope for her years of dedication. For more than 60 years, Ginnie was involved in Beta Sigma Phi, an educational and philanthropic sorority for women. She served in every capacity numerous times, locally and state-wide. Her sorority sisterhood will greatly miss her and her easy, giving nature. She never looked for applause or accolades, just simply took over and completed whatever was asked of her. Many may remember Ginnie and Bill from years of golf and as an active member of Riverside Womens' Golf. In the last 30 years, she traveled the world, alone and with special friends. The tours kept her busy, active and learning until just a couple of years ago. Last, but not least, was Ginnie's cabin in Kingvale, Ca. and how she loved every summer she spent there for the last 80 years. The cabin, built by her parents, George and Edith Locklin, has been cherished by every generation it has sheltered. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her children, Christine Smith and her husband Leighton, Jean Pritchard and her husband Babak, Nola Mawhinney and her husband Chuck, Laura Gardner and her husband Mark, Jay Pritchard, and Kevin Pritchard and his wife Barbara; her nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren will miss their Grandma and Great Mama. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Friday, January 4, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. The family requests that donations be made to The St Vincent de Paul Society in lieu of flowers.
