He was a retired Dodge Laundry man, but also worked after his official retirement. He worked for Enterprise Rent-a-Car as a driver and for Lisle Funeral home. He was working for Lisle up until 2017, when he was 87 years old. Bill was active in the Elks, the Moose and the Edison Social Club.
He was preceded in death by his father Owen Calvert Cardwell, his mother Edna Alice Hackbert Cardwell, and his wife, Eleanor Mandarich Cardwell.
Bill leaves behind his companion, Margie Duke, his biological children, Natalie Elliott Larson of Redding, CA, and Tim Elliott of Fresno. He is also survived by his step-children Brian Mandarich and Karen Mandarich Frazier. He will be missed by his beloved granddaughter Allison. In addition, his sister, Shirley Scherr and her two daughters, Debra and Sandra were with him as he passed.
Funeral Services are planned for Friday, November 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Lisle Chapel. Lisle Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Interment to follow at Belmont Memorial Park.
