He was a retired chemist, and enjoyed backpacking and hiking in the Sierras, Colorado and Alaska. He's been to the top of Half Dome three times, Mt. Whitney twice. Although his career took him to Modesto for ten years, he enjoyed his return to Fresno where he was raised and to be close to family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve Waters Gore and his daughter, Melynda Renee Kiku Gore.
Willie is survived by his wife, Jeanne Naito; his son, Matthew Gore and his wife Danielle; daughter Meganne Gore; granddaughter Kanaelili Gore; his father, Harold Eugene Gore and his sister, Donna Rengh.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
