Xia Vang Vue was born on February 20, 1954, in Phumu, Laos, to her loving parents, Blia Lauj and Nom Lauj Vaj. As their only child, she was deeply cherished and surrounded by love.
In 1976, she met Shong Lee Vue in Phuka, Laos, and together they began building their family, welcoming their first child that same year during a time of great uncertainty as the Vietnam War continued to escalate. In 1979, Xia and her family immigrated to the United States in search of safety and opportunity. They first settled in Providence, Rhode Island, before relocating to Minneapolis, Minnesota, to be closer to extended family.
Following the end of her marriage, Xia demonstrated remarkable strength and resilience by moving her children to Fresno, California, where she raised her family and established a home filled with love and stability.
In 1999, Xia met Jong Su Xiong, whom she later married. Through this union, she lovingly welcomed a child from his previous marriage into her family, bringing her total to eleven children.
