Ada, Even though we were blessed with an extra 7 years after your lung transplant, we were still not ready for you to leave us. You were without a doubt, one of the most interesting and kindest lady I have ever met. I am so thankful my mom met you at knitting class, and thankfully, you joined us in our card group! Listening to stories about your youth and the memories you shared kept everyone's attention. You were always dressed so nicely coming over to play cards, carrying your small bottle of water (even though it said Coke) and snacks to share with everyone. While playing cards, we all knew it was your "pill time" when your cell phone alarm sounded. Usually the last to leave mom's home after cards, you were always ready to go out to eat after a long afternoon of playing cards.
Anytime mom had trouble with a knitting project, she knew you would come over and help her. Mom knew that if you could just look at the pattern and figure out how to do the stitch!
I enjoyed planting a garden with you in your backyard, and learning from you on when to plant various vegetables. Anytime mom and or I came to your home, we were welcomed with open arms. Your Bible was close to your chair, and you were always working on a project. You were sitting in your chair with the lamp on either making hats and scarves for the homeless, purses from plastic grocery bags, or rugs from plastic bags so the homeless wouldn't be sleeping on the cold ground, you always put others first.
My granddaughter enjoyed coming to your home, which she said was a museum. You had no problem with her running up and down the stairs, or holding the dolls you had made. She loved walking around in your backyard with you, as you allowed her to rearrange the small animal statutes that you had around your trees.
I am thankful to Christ, who brought you into our lives. You have truly touched so many people, and you are missed.
Love you, dear friend, Susan & Jovi Morris & Marie Schaub

Ada was my sweet friend, having met her with her friend Carl in Matador, Texas way back in the early 2000's. She was a beautiful woman inside and out, and she kept in touch by regularly attending the estate sales I conduct. She had a heart as big as Texas and had an aura about her that drew you to her. My sympathy goes to her family and special neighbor friend. Please know that I loved her, too.
