Arlene Phyllis Frankeberger, a proud veteran, devoted mother, and cherished member of her community, leaving behind a legacy of courage, resilience, and unwavering service.
Born on January 9, 1949, to Alexander Fuerstinger and Elsie Maxine Noble Smith, Arlene grew up with a deep sense of duty and patriotism. She answered the call to serve her country by joining the United States Army, where she distinguished herself as an expert marksman and participated in Operation Desert Storm. Her strength, precision, and dedication earned her the respect of her peers and the gratitude of a nation.
Arlene’s life was marked by quiet bravery and steadfast commitment to her family, her fellow soldiers, and the values she held dear. She will be remembered not only for her military service but for the grace and dignity with which she carried herself through life.
She is survived by her two sons, Jose Eugene Abreu and James Frankeberger, and by James’s three children Ryan, Evan, and Madison, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. Arlene also leaves behind her beloved brother, Larry Wayne Feurstinger, whose bond with her was filled with love, laughter and lifelong memories. Arlene’s love for her family was boundless, and her legacy lives on through them.
An inurnment service with full military honors will be held on September 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Dallas – Fort Worth National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest among fellow heroes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, in honor of Arlene’s enduring spirit and her fight against cancer.
