Arlyn is survived by his wife of 27 years, Diane Scott; his daughter Rhonda (Audie) Jackson; his son Darryl (Susan) Scott; Diane's kids - John (Kendra) Kipp; James Kipp; Nate Kipp; Melissa (Jeff) Kush; Kimberly (Kalynn) Robinson; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Arlyn was born to Henry and Vada Scott. He had an older brother, Donald and a younger sister, Maxine. Arlyn grew up on a farm in Kansas milking cows, baling hay, and riding his horse, Tex, to country school. After his father decided to move the family to West Texas, Arlyn discovered his passion for golf. Arlyn received a full golf scholarship to Hardin Simmons University. He played professionally and eventually started his own golf business in Odessa, TX until his retirement at the age of 78.
Arlyn was deeply patriotic, loved the Dallas Cowboys and was in awe of the majestic eagle. He loved old movies, especially westerns. Arlyn enjoyed sharing his golfing knowledge with any eager golfer in the family, which always put a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes.
Arlyn loved life, family, friends, and above all, he loved God. He was a kind and gentle man, but filled the room with his presence. He will be greatly missed. Fly high like an eagle.
