Barbara M. Von Seggern, age 75, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025. Barbara was born on December 15, 1949, in Ottawa, Ontario to Walter and Lorna (Dennison) Bambrick. Barbara’s childhood interests included hosting tea parties, reading books and being part of the Girl Guides of Canada. At age 12, Barbara and her family moved to the United States. Barbara graduated from Ramsey High School in New Jersey and then worked as a bank teller in Manhattan.
Barbara felt her life really began when she met her future husband, Keith. She met Keith Von Seggern on the last weekend in February 1970 at a mixer at West Point. On February 5, 1972, they were united in holy matrimony at the Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity at West Point. Even though in many ways they were opposites, they forged a bond and made it work for 47 years. Barbara was a loving wife. Barbara was primarily a homemaker, but she did work outside the home in several industries over the course of her life. She enjoyed working with young children the most and held multiple positions working with children over the course of several years.
Barbara loved to read and shared her love of reading with her family, making sure her children and grandchildren had the latest books on the New York Times Best Seller list. Her hobbies also included photography, interior design, watching Romcom movies, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and playing cards. But her favorite thing in life was spending quality time with her husband. Keith and Barbara enjoyed traveling abroad together where Barbara enjoyed taking scenic pictures of Scotland, Ireland and England. Keith and Barbara were members of All Saints Catholic Church for 25 years and led Golden Saints together as President and Vice President respectively in Dallas, TX.
A few years after Keith had passed away, Barbara moved to Village on the Park at Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, TX where she was on the resident board committee and participated in card games, exercise class, book club and community events. She truly enjoyed the community and friendships that were made there. Barbara will be missed by family and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, in 2019. She is survived by her children, Lorna (Mike), Anna (Eugene), John (Lynsey), and six grandchildren. Barbara is also survived by her siblings Catherine, Michael, Walter, James, John (Jake) and half-sister Penny. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
