December 30, 1949 – September 15, 2025
With deep sorrow and abiding love, we announce the passing of Bonnie Gale Amaon, who departed this life peacefully on September 15, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 75. Bonnie was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, cherished sister, and loyal friend whose warmth, wisdom, and generous spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
Bonnie was born on December 30, 1949, in Denver, Colorado, to Gordon Seymour Carr and Dorothy Carland Carr, who preceded her in death. She grew up surrounded by the values of family, hard work, and creativity. Qualities that defined her throughout her life.
Professionally, in her younger years, Bonnie worked as a dental hygienist, but her passions were diverse as an accomplished seamstress, skilled in needlepoint, crochet, and the art of creating beauty with her hands. A master in the kitchen, she expressed her love through cooking, often filling her home with delicious meals and the comforting smells of her signature recipes. She found joy in gardening, a student of history, and a world traveler with an unquenchable curiosity about the world. During her middle years, she lived in France, where she became fluent in French and developed a deep appreciation for it’s culture and language.
At the heart of Bonnie’s life was her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Robert Owen Amaon, and a loving mother to her daughters, Crystal Cavanaugh and Monica Bendele. Her grandchildren — David, Erich, Evyn Bendele, Kate Cavanaugh, and most recently welcoming a great grandson Brooks Owen Bendele, were her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into being the kind of grandmother who always made them feel loved, supported, and special. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Young, and brother Walt Carr, who will forever cherish her memory.
Bonnie’s life will be honored at a Funeral Service on September 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at United Methodist Church, located at 503 N Central Expressway, Richardson, TX.
A Private Family Committal Service will follow on September 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX.
