She is survived by nieces, Alyssa Francesca Baker Johnson, Alicia Gutierrez, Veronica Martinez, Christine Gutierrez, Irma Kelly, Carolyn Collins, and Birgit Gutierrez, nephews, Alan Johnson, David Gutierrez, Jason Gutierrez, Mario Gutierrez and Marco Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by Parents, Juan and Jesusita Gutierrez; sisters, Atanacia Salazar, Lucia G. Spillman, Mary G. Lambert, Victoria G. Baker, Pilar Lozano, and Pearl Gutierrez; brothers, Ladislao Gutierrez, Margarito “Conn” Gutierrez and Gilbert Gutierrez.
Carolina graduated from N.R. Crozier Tech and embarked on a career that reflected her compassionate nature. She felt called to pursue nursing after working in various administrative roles across different industries. Her determination led her to UT Southwest Medical School in Dallas, where she earned her Licensed Vocational Nurse license.
Carolina dedicated herself to caring for those in need for decades through various nursing positions and volunteer work. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond the workplace as she became a lifetime member of the Irving Nursing Auxiliary and later served as a school nurse at The Hockaday School in Dallas.
Carolina's love for literature and Bible study was a significant part of her life. She found solace and strength in books that touched her heart deeply, and her Bible study brought immense joy into every aspect of her life.
A woman of faith, Carolina was a founding member of St Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church in Keller, Texas, and was involved in numerous civic and charitable organizations.
A Memorial Service and inurnment will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Calvary Hill Cemetery (John Paul Columbaria House), 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220.
