Cheow Lip Goh

Paul Cheow Lip Goh passed away on June 27, 2025, in Frisco, Texas. He was 51. Born in Singapore to Goh Yeng Chee and Hu May Hong, Paul earned a B.A.S. in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University and an M.S. in Computer Science from Columbia University. While studying at NTU, he met his future wife Irene at Orchard Road Presbyterian Church Young Adults’ Fellowship. They served together on the fellowship committee and mission trips to Thailand. In 1999, Paul moved to the Bay Area in California for work. He and Irene married in 2001 and raised three children in California for fifteen years before moving to Texas. Paul forged a twenty-six-year career in software engineering, his most recent role being Executive Director at JPMorgan Chase & Co. In the office, Paul’s unwavering willingness to go above and beyond in helping others made a lasting impact on his colleagues.

Paul enjoyed running, lifting, and small game hunting. Known for his arm wrestling challenges, he remains undefeated today. A passionate foodie, Paul also relished exploring and reviewing local restaurants. His fried rice was the gold standard in his church life team, and occasionally he made steak for his family in the middle of the night.

His friends and family will always remember him for his quiet dedication, spontaneous affection, and perpetual, inimitably childlike sense of humor. A steadfast follower of Christ, Paul loved studying the Bible, served in sound production at Dominion Life Church, and testified glory to God for every miracle in his life.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Irene, children Melody, Charmaine, and Zachary, sister Chwee Sim, brothers-in-law Jason, Lay Hian, Remy, and Gavin, sisters-in-law Sandy, Janice, and Cheryl, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in the sanctuary at First Frisco Global Methodist Church in Frisco, TX, at 10 A.M. on July 19, 2025, followed by a light reception. No black attire is necessary.
