Chris was known as a quiet, light-hearted, and compassionate soul. Chris was a Christian man that led his family in the church. He loved the simple things in life and spending time with his family. Chris loved rock and roll and was a phenomenal drummer in his younger years, he played in numerous bands and even made an appearance playing in Super Bowl XXIII. Chris enjoyed his time on the lake teaching all of his children about the joys of fishing and water skiing. Sundays were reserved for Dallas Cowboys games and NASCAR races. If you watched a game or a race with Chris in his garage you may only be promised a few words, but you knew they came from his heart. Chris enjoyed long rides on his Harley Davidson in his later years, taking trips to Sturgis and Broken Bow with his wife and friends.
Chris was born to Norma and Floyd Smith in Wagoner, Oklahoma in 1959 and was a proud graduate of Purcell High School’s Class of 1977. Chris then worked his way up in the phone company starting as a phone man and retiring as a Division Supervisor with the company GTE that later became Verizon and finally Frontier from the years of 1979 to 2017. He is known for playing in the GTE company band that toured the country.
Chris will be greatly missed by his loving family and will always be remembered in their hearts.
