Claudia loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved talking on the phone and staying in touch with those that meant so much to her. Claudia married George L. Thompson, of Shreveport, La in 1960 and together they raised 2 daughters, Kelli and Holli. They moved to Fort Worth, TX in the early 1970s and remained there for years.
When her children were young, she worked with their church teaching Sunday school and later worked with the youth group at University United Methodist Church. She and George later divorced, after which she started a career in the mortgage industry. Many may remember that Claudia worked tirelessly at 2 jobs for years - working in retail at Mervyn’s and also in the mortgage industry. During those years she developed some lasting friendships.
Claudia loved gardening, shopping and talking. She created ceramics, enjoyed watercolor paints, and sewing.
She is preceded in death by her two sons, Carter Beckom Thompson and Kyle Pollock Thompson; her parents Tom Pennington Pollock and Ruth Jean Pollock.
She is survived by her daughters Kelli L. Thompson Ivy and husband David W. Porter; Holli K. Thompson-Tomme; grandchildren Carter D. Metcalf and wife Kristen Metcalf; Tyler Craig Ivy, Kyle Brian Tomme, Hannah Kathleen Tomme; and a host of friends.
She will be missed sorely and was loved by all. A celebration of Life service will be held Saturday August 7, 2021 at 1pm at Stonebriar Funeral Home located at 10375 Preston Rd., Frisco, TX 75033.
