Daniel Made Monibe

Daniel Made Monibe was born in Sudan on August 9, 1983, the only child of his father, Redento Made Taban and his mother, Regina Carolina Keji Todo. Daniel was a very happy baby boy and as he grew in age, he learned to love school and especially, he loved his family. He earned the nickname of “Eruaga”. Daniel was proud of his South Sudanese Madi African traditions and how they helped develop him into the man he later became.

Daniel’s life was not an easy one as he grew up in refugee camps in Sudan and Uganda. Yet in spite of those hardships, Daniel started his own corner store as a child which was the growth of his strong business sense and his desire to succeed. When time permitted, Daniel loved to play soccer, go hunting as well as try his skill at fishing. His favorite television show was “Keeping Up Appearances”. Daniel loved his faith and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Community of Believers.

Friends and families recall Daniel as a loving, sincere, friendly person that was open to all people. He was a real extrovert which resulted in having many friends and he touched many lives – a true people person. Daniel was a hard worker with great determination and successful in whatever he attempted. However, he never forgot about his real love, and that was caring for his family which made him a good provider for his family. Daniel exhibited true Christian behavior as he was always extremely sympathetic to all those he came into contact with.

Daniel attended the Layibi Advanced Level Secondary Education in Gulu, Uganda. He was a proud member of the United States Army where he earned the rank of Sergeant for the past seven years. Daniel’s real desire was to assist his fellow men. His goal was that of service in the Public Health area which is why he was enrolled in medical school prior to his death.

Daniel is preceded in death by his father, Redento Made Taban yet his legacy lives on through his son Seth Karayi Monibe from his first marriage to Grace Juwa in Africa and through the love of his life, his bride, Stella Jura and their daughter, Priah Minallah Monibe residents of Killeen, TX.

Daniel was loved while here with us and that love will continue through time and all eternity.
