Darcy Nanette Doelger died on August 20, 2018 of complications from surgery to remove a mass in her brain. She was fourteen.
Darcy was the daughter of Eric Doelger, a printing sales executive, and Susan Kane, the former editor-in-chief of BabyTalk, Parenting, and Success magazines. An award-winning artist and avid rider, she was about to enter her sophomore year at Wakeland High School in Frisco, Texas. She loved her family, her boyfriend, horses, wolves, and all God’s creatures, drawing, Chris Pratt, rap, “Chopped,” and the films WALL-E and Spirit, which she watched countless times over.
She is survived by her parents; her brother, Nicholas Kane Doelger of Austin, TX; many loving relatives; and many pets, including Corn (ball python), Peanut (hamster), Carlos (turtle), Max and Sassy (cats), Belle and Beau (parakeets), and Ebony and Trixie (rabbits).
A celebration of her life will be held at Bella Donna Chapel in McKinney, Texas, on Saturday, August 25 at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Darcy’s name at www.beckyshope.com.
