

Born on August 12, 1948, in Little Rock, Arkansas, David was raised by his paternal grandparents alongside his identical twin brother, Danny. From humble beginnings, he built a life defined by perseverance, integrity, and devotion to those around him.
David served his country as a United States Marine, fighting in Vietnam. Following his military service, he pursued higher education, graduating from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock.
David became a highly respected leader in his field, ultimately serving as Chief Executive Office of Crossmark. His professionalism, vision, and dedication earned him admiration from colleagues and competitors alike.
Upon retirement, David turned his focus entirely to what mattered most: family. He founded the Baxley Foundation to continue his lifelong mission of helping others, ensuring his legacy of generosity and service would continue for generations.
David found joy in life's meaningful moments: spending time with those he loved, playing golf with friends, and ending each day with his favorite bourbon and a cigar. His warmth, humor, and unwavering loyalty will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
David's life was a testament to his strength, kindness, and inner joy. His memory will forever remain a source of inspiration and love.
David is survived by his devoted wife, Grace Baxley; his twin brother, Danny and wife Jody; his children, Daniel Baxley and wife Sahra, Tara Scroggins and husband Jason, and Mellissa McElhinny and husband Paul; and his grandchildren, Lissy Gardner and husband Andrew, William Ausbrooks, Evan Scroggins, Olivia McElhinny, Colton McElhinny, Jackson McElhinny, and Reign Baxley.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Tracy Lewis and husband Jamie, Danna Baxley, Rebekah Bennett and husband Chris, Paul Lloyd Baxley and wife Wendy, and Simon Lee.
David was preceded in death by his older brother, Paul John Baxley.
David's visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8th from 1pm until 5pm, and the service will take place at 11am on Sunday, November 9th at Stonebriar Funeral Home located at 10375 Preston Rd, Frisco, TX 75033.
