Being from Louisiana, Dena became a long time fan of LSU football and The New Orleans Saints and is known to have a "secret recipe" for her own cajun seasoning that she always carried with her to spice up anything. She loved spending time at the lake with family and friends and relaxing listening to music. She also worked for Frito Lay for 25 years. However, Dena's husband, children, and grandchildren was her greatest accomplishment and spending time with them brought her peace.
Dena is preceded in death by her mother, Cecilia Elsie Pitre; father, Burton “Larry” Guidry; stepfather, James N. Pitre; and brother, Lyle Guidry.
