John was a Good Man and a Friend. He will be missed. What a wealth of knowledge he had with his career as a Game Warden.
I really enjoyed fishing with him. I sure will miss talking with him.
His family needs to know how much I enjoyed knowing him. He was taken too soon.

I worked with John in El Dorado and Amador Counties. He also lived nearby, so I had the opportunity to help him out from time to time by giving him rides when driving was difficult for him. I will always remember that he remained hopeful and upbeat these last few months. He met his challenges with grace. l will miss him.

Much more can be said of John. Much more. To find out about his Game Warden life, you only need to read "TOUGH CUSTOMERS" by Terry Hodges. It demonstrates what good training and dedication will do. John was a "by the book" officer but always had a mind for fairness. Through nearly 20 years of working together as adjoining district wardens, I got to know him as a friend in the deepest sense of the word. I knew how physically strong he was, where the situation was turning, and how he could turn a bad encounter into a win for DFG and wildlife. God will take you in.

I remember John from his days in Long Beach. I enjoyed his company, and conversation very much. His experience with carpentry and home building aligned with my experiences and we shared stories.
He was a good man who loved his family, friends and his work no matter what that was. He was a great Game Warden and I will miss him.

I knew John for many years. I always knew that if I worked with John he would have my back. John was a good friend. I kept in touch with John every couple of weeks. John was one of the good guys. I know that John suffered a lot for the past few years. Rest in peace John. You will be missed.

I met John back in the 80's while working on the Sonoma Coast. I eventually worked with him more often when we both had positions in Region 2. When I think of John I remember a quiet, gental man who liked to share a laugh.

To his family, I am so sorry for your loss.

John was a great Warden and friend. I talked with him a while back while he was in Texas. He always called me the other Bob Prosser.
I shall miss him but remember all of the good times we shared in both Long Beach and Sacramento.
Rest in Peace my friend.
