Desiree’ Nicholle Perkins was born November 11, 2005, to Staci Lynn Springs and Corey Joe Perkins in Garland, Texas. From the very beginning, Desi carried a spark — a bright, fearless spirit with a heart that loved deeply and a determination that inspired everyone who knew her. She surmounted multiple challenges to graduate from The Colony High School in June 2024, where she mastered welding and earned her certification. She even won a blue ribbon in a school welding contest, a testament to her skill, dedication, and focus. Through her passions, she personified excellence in everything she pursued.
A proud member of the FFA, Desi nourished and groomed a pig for competition, and she was an avid horse rider. She had a special way with animals, a love so genuine that it guided her to work for McKee's Pet Place before setting her sights on a career in welding. Her love for animals was also seen in the deep bond she shared with her guardian Rottweiler, Bjørn, who preceded her in death in 2024.
Desi loved God and loved people. She often found ways to show kindness in spite of — and sometimes because of — the challenges she faced, challenges that shaped her into someone strong, compassionate, and resilient. Her warmth, loyalty, and joy left an imprint on everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Randy Perkins, in 2022, and her beloved Bjørn in 2024. She leaves behind her loving parents, Staci Lynn Springs and Corey Joe Perkins; her grandmothers, Margaret A. Blow and LouAnn Perkins; her uncles, Alex Blow and Micah Perkins; the love of her life, Chris Hartley; as well as extended family members, and countless friends who will carry her memory forward.
Desi’s life was a gift to all who knew her. Her time here was far too short, but her faith, her love, and her light will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
