Diana Gonzalez Sarsfield passed from this life on to her eternal home on August 21, 2020 in Allen, Texas. She was born to Carlos Jose Gonzalez, MD and Dr. Ruth Bagnall Gonzalez on September 1, 1981 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the fifth of six children. Diana spent her early years growing up in Houston, TX and Denver, CO.
People who knew her would tell you she was a bright, cheerful ray of sunshine. She never met a stranger and always brought cheer to those around her. Diana was spunky, sassy, very loving and caring with all those around her.
Diana graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Englewood, Colorado in 2000. She went on to attend Colorado State University and graduated in 2004 with a degree in psychology. Diana worked several years in Human Resources. However, most recently, she served in her most important position as a full-time Mother, an occupation that she cherished up until her stroke in 2016.
Diana loved all types of arts and craft activities and was very artistic. She loved to garden and grow flowers. Diana had a passion for all animals and would befriend any “bunnies” or “birdies” fortunate to cohabitate in her area or any frogs that she could catch. She also enjoyed baking especially cookies! Diana found great joy in books and was an avid reader.
Asked where her favorite place to be was, Diana would respond at the beach or the mountains. She loved hiking as a child and camping in the mountains as a young adult . Diana liked all types of music and she loved to sing all the Disney songs. One of her favorite songs was “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra. Her fond memory was of her dancing with her father to that song during her wedding in 2008.
Diana was a committed Christian with a strong faith. She was a member of Centennial Church in Frisco, where over the years she served as a Sunday School Teacher.
Her memory will live on through her beloved 13 year old son, Dane Patrick Sarsfield of whom she was very proud of; her Mother, Ruth Bagnall Gonzalez of Denver, CO; her Father, Carlos J. Gonzalez and his wife, Linda of Magnolia, TX; her sister, Kelly Gonzales and her husband, Carlos of Austin, TX; her brother, Bradley McFarland and his wife, Rebecca of Boerne, TX; her sister, Kelly Jatzlau and her husband, Bill of Houston, TX; her brother, Carlos Daniel (Danny) Gonzalez of San Antonio, TX; and her sister, Andrea Michelle Gonzalez of Houston, TX. Diana was loved by her many friends, especially Johanna Zaragoza and her dog, Raven.
Diana was loved while she was with us here in life and will be continued to be loved by her family and friends through time and all eternity. She will be dearly missed.
