Don Ray Myers was born to Grace and Ray Myers on June 19, 1937. He grew up in Cooper, TX. His father passed away when Don was 14 months old, so his uncles helped to fill that role. The family moved to Dallas when he was young.

He grew up attending Bethel Temple Church in Oak Cliff. He graduated from Adamson High School in 1955. Don played football for Adamson as the center position. His close friends in high school became lifelong friends, including Jack King, David Ferguson, Joe Woods and several others. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington but left after two years. He was an underwriter with Allstate for 30 years and later sold casualty and property insurance for Colonial Casualty.

He served in the U. S. Marines on Paris Island. Don was an outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting. He avidly watched all the athletic games played by the grandkids, whether it was football, baseball, or soccer. Don was a member of his childhood church and served as an usher there for many years. He was a member of the Oak Cliff Masonic Lodge for 30 years. He and Judy have attended Elevate Life Church since it was built in 2010. Their pastor, Keith Craft, also grew up in Bethel Temple Church.

Don married Judy on October 1, 1959. They were married for 60 years and were blessed with two children. During his 23 days at Baybrooke Village Rehab, Don left the strong impression as a "Man of God." He often prayed for everyone there, including himself. Others thought he was mumbling, but when you listened close, you could hear Don praying for everyone around him.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Ray Myers.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Stephanie (Harley) Pritt and Brent (Suzanne) Myers; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren with one more on the way.

I have many happy memories with my papa! He pulled me aside, almost every time I visited, just to tell me how proud he was of me.
Below, is Papa helping me prepare for an upcoming barrel race (which he had to walk me though every time).

My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever.

We love and miss you!
