
Bud was a 1981 graduate of Fair Grove High School in Fair Grove, Missouri. He was a self-employed contractor in Missouri and in Texas. Bud spent two rewarding years working in Pinedale Apartments in Beaumont, Texas for the Casey family who treated him like family.
He was a former member of Boulevard Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri for several years. Bud enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, and trips to the casino. More than anything, Bud was truly a people person who enjoyed spending time with his friends. He was outgoing and never met a stranger. His opening statement to everyone was always, “What’s really happening?”, which he will be remembered for. Bud will also be remembered for one of his favorite sayings, “Get you some”. He had several nicknames; Bud Rowe, The Budster, Don, Donald, Bubby, The Budinator, Bud-a-roosky as he was such a well-liked guy. Bud was a man filled with smiles and positive energy, always wanting to make others happy. He was a generous man, who will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Bud was preceded in death by his father, Donald Nixon; and stepfather, J.W. Howard. He is survived by his mother, Norma Howard of Springfield, MO; his children, Steven Gutsch and Amber Lynn Gutsch; brother, David (Vicki) Nixon of Frisco, TX; sisters, Donna (Jerry) Bulloch of Lewisville, TX, Sharla (Eddie) Jacobs of Elkland, MO, Jo Alice (Richard) Kelley of Republic, MO, Kathy and Sherry of Springfield, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
