

Erick obtained his BS in Mechanical Engineering, MBA in Finance, and PhD in Nuclear Engineering (Candidate). He also enjoyed being a Chaplaincy Hospice volunteer for 18 years.
He began his career at Chance Vought Aerospace which merged and was renamed Ling Tempco Vought. After that, he worked consulting on various Department of Defense projects including a refit of the President’s Air Force One, the Apollo space suits and ultimately working on the Hanford Nuclear Reactors where he oversaw multiple decontamination projects.
His wife Sharon Koehling and his son David Koehling precede Erick in death. Erick lived with his wife of 37 years in Richland, Washington for 26 years and 11 years in Denver, Colorado. Also, Erick's Stepbrother, Les Howard.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, James Koehling and Sharon, Daniel Koehling and Linda Koehling, Patricia Koehling, Janie Lewis and Kyle Lewis, Mike Koehling and Robin Koehling, and Rob Koehling and Gretchen Koehling; Jeff Harrop and Robin Harrop, Mike Harrop, Mark Harrop and Linda Harrop; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers Gordon Koehling and wife, Betty and Robert Koehling and wife, Ann; and seven nieces and nephews; also his step-sister-in-law, Karen.
A celebration of life for Erick will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Stonebriar Funeral Home, 10375 Preston Rd., Frisco, Texas 75034.
