Born on October 1, 1968, in Columbia, MO he was the son of Robert David and Claudia Ann (Phaup) Mindlin. Edward proudly served in the United States Navy for four years. A gifted athlete, he played baseball for the University of Missouri and later for a brief time the Cincinnati Reds.
Beyond athletics, Edward had a deep curiosity and passion for learning—especially in the field of computers—which became a foundation for his professional life. He was a brilliant technical architect at Mary Kay Corporate Headquarters for 11 years. More than any career achievement, Edward was most proud of his family.
He is survived by his life partner, Katie, and his children: Alex Byrd, 34; Anna Rose Mindlin, 22; Margaret Ann Mindlin, 18; and Grant Edward Mindlin, 16. He is also survived by his brother, Robert David Mindlin Jr.
A celebration of life for Ernest will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Stonebriar Funeral Home, 10375 Preston Rd., Frisco, Texas 75033.
