He was born January 6, 1965, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Robert Stanley Luckock and Dona Jane Luckock.
Greg was raised in Greenville, PA, and graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Business Administration. While at Grove City, he played football and was a proud member of the Delta Iota Kappa fraternity—experiences that reflected his love of camaraderie, team spirit, and lifelong friendships.
He built a remarkable and varied career centered on ingenuity, learning, and elevating others. Early in his professional life, after moving to Texas, he co-founded Software Academy with his father, combining his entrepreneurial drive with a shared passion for technology and education. He went on to lead with heart and vision in the learning and development space, most recently serving as Principal of Learning Experience at TiER1 Performance. Greg was admired for his insight, empathy, and ability to bring out the best in people—traits that left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
Greg’s creativity showed up in all aspects of his life—from his work to the way he approached hobbies, problem-solving, and even parenting. He had a brilliant mind for building, imagining, and dreaming big.
Outside of work and family, Greg found joy in the little things: hitting the golf course on a sunny day, cheering (and sometimes agonizing) over his beloved Dallas Cowboys, or watching and re-watching his favorite movies. He loved playing euchre and dominoes with his family, often turning an ordinary evening into one filled with laughter, teasing, and fierce competition. Greg was an avid runner, a movie buff, and someone who saw beauty and fun in everyday life.
Greg married Joelle Susan Patterson in 1987, and together they built a full life marked by deep love and proud parenthood. His greatest joy came from his family. He was a proud and loving father to Stephen, Kierstyn, and Kaitlyn Luckock. In May 2025, Greg became a grandfather to James Craig Luckock—a role he cherished deeply and one that lit up his world in a whole new way.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Robert Stanley Luckock, in 2014. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Dona Luckock of Frisco, TX, and siblings Lynele (Chris) Fedorczyk of Prosper, TX; Wesley (Rebecca) Luckock of Denver, CO; and Hayley (Daniel) Smith of Boise, ID. He is also survived by his children: Stephen (Sloan) Luckock of Princeton, TX; Dr. Kierstyn Luckock of Little Rock, AR; and Lt. Kaitlyn Luckock, MD, US Navy; and his grandson, James Craig Luckock of Princeton, TX. He leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and colleagues whose lives were touched by his kindness, generosity, and warmth.
Greg’s legacy is one of joy, connection, creativity, and unwavering love for his family. His impact will continue to be felt by all who were lucky enough to know him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life service at 3:00 p.m., with a reception to follow. Services will be held at Stonebriar Funeral Home in Frisco, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Greg’s memory to the Prosper Area Soccer Organization, https://www.prospersoccer.com/greg-luckock-memorial-fund, a program close to the Luckock family and one where he spent many years coaching and cheering from the sidelines. Or, simply honor Greg’s memory by embracing life, laughter, creativity, and the people around you—just as he always did.
