

Harold Hilton Phipps, III, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and dedicated servant, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, service, and devotion to his family and community.
Harold was born on December 5, 1949, in Pine bluff, Ark, the son of Harold H Phipps Jr, DDS and Della Gardner Phipps. He attended Howard University for his undergraduate and Law School degrees.
Following Law School, he moved to Colorado Springs and married Louise Weathersby and, became a loving father to her three young children.
While in Colorado Springs Harold worked in management positions in the fields of insurance, marketing, retail and sales. He was well loved by his coworkers and employees. In addition, Harold proudly served his country for twenty-two years and retired as a Major in the United States National Guard.
His military career reflected the qualities that defined him throughout his life: discipline, leadership, commitment, courage, and an unwavering sense of responsibility. His service to his country was a source of great pride, and his legacy of service continued long after his military career ended.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Harold’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather who treasured time with those he loved. He will be remembered for his steadiness, his generosity, and his love of family.
Harold also made an impact through his work, his friendships, his neighboring gathering places, or simply being there when somebody needed him. He believed in showing up for the people and causes that mattered to him.
Those who knew Harold will remember not only the life he lived, but the way he made others feel. His memory will remain a treasured part of the lives he touched.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Louise Phipps; children, Joy Bratcher; Ray Weathersby and his wife, Tracee Weathersby; Chrissy Ball and her husband, Eddie Ball IV; and Lori Moore and her husband, Eddie Moore; siblings, Evelyn Boyer Favors and Willetta Phipps; niece and nephew, Erika DaRonco and her husband, Blaine DaRonco, and Spencer P. Boyer and his wife, Clare Stroud; grandchildren, Lauren Weathersby, Michael Weathersby, Edward Ball V, Eddie “Gabriel” Moore, Jordan Ball, and Christina Moore; and a host of extended family members, friends, former colleagues, and loved ones.
May he rest peacefully, knowing that he was deeply loved, greatly respected, and will never be forgotten.
