Jackie was born into a family of 6 siblings: Jose, Chester, Dino, Cheri, Jackie, and Gigi. During her childhood, she lived in many places due to the military. She attended elementary school at Ft. Buchanan, Puerto Rico, where she met her best friend and future sister-in-law Gail, and future husband Terry. After both families went their separate ways, they reunited again at Ft. Bliss, Texas where she graduated from Parkland high school and married Terry. They started to raise a family with the birth of their first-born child Clifford in 1969, then Maureen in 1973, Amanda in 1977, and granddaughter Mellisa in 1994. Jackie dedicated 40 years of her life to the United States Department of Defense as a civil servant. She started her career as a Budget Analyst for the 517th Maintenance Battalion, Zweibruecken Germany; Management Analyst, 5th Signal Command; Worms, Mannheim, and Wiesbaden Germany; and as a Support Agreement Analyst at Army Garrison Ft. Richardson, Alaska. She retired in 2012 where she, Terry, and Mellisa settled in Frisco, TX. One of Jackie’s most notable passions in life was relentlessly pursuing justice for those responsible for the death of her brother Army MAJ Chester Garrett. She loved her family dearly, including her fur baby Sherlock who would never leave her side. Jackie enjoyed traveling through Europe, cooking, baking, and gardening. Most recently she was involved in the neighborhood book club and playing canasta.
