Jim was born on July 11, 1945, in Long Beach, California, to Howard Jessy Blue and Lois Mae Humes Blue. He graduated from Garden Grove High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Beverly Ann. The two married in Las Vegas in 1965, beginning a lifelong journey filled with love, family, and adventure. Jim later earned an associate degree from Orange Coast College.
Jim enjoyed a rewarding career in the oilfield industry, which took him and his family to live and work in different countries around the world. Through his career, he experienced many adventures and opportunities, always with his family by his side.
After years of hard work and adventure, Jim embraced retirement and the simple pleasures that meant the most to him. He enjoyed playing golf, taking vacations with his family, and, most of all, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events throughout the years. Being there to cheer them on and share in their lives brought him tremendous happiness and pride.
Above all, Jim cherished his family. His beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter were the center of his world and brought him endless love, pride, and joy. The memories they created together will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Beverly Ann Blue and his sister, Yvonne Addington.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Christy Eckrote (Mike); and his son, Michael Blue (Jody). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jordan Eckrote, McKenzie Hambleton, Rachel Eckrote, Trace Blue, and James Eckrote, as well as his beloved great-granddaughter.
Jim will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his adventurous spirit, and the love he shared with those closest to him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly and the countless memories they will carry with them.
