

He was a 1976 graduate of South Garland High School. Mike went on to attend Eastfield College and University of Texas at Dallas, and earned an Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting from ITT Institute in 1999. He worked as an Auto CAD Draftsman for ten years for multiple engineering firms before his recent employment as a Certified Pharmacy Tech for the last seven years.
Mike had a love for sports: watching sports, going to sporting events, and collecting sports memorabilia. He also collected coins and was a trivia extraordinaire. He loved the beach and going to concerts, and spending time with his family. Mike was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church – North. He was a loving husband, father, and friend, whose kindness radiated from him with his willingness to help others and put others first. Mike was a gentle and humble man and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Renee (Mize) Martin; sons, Grayson and Josh Martin, both of McKinney; brother, Chip (Becky) Martin of Carrollton; sister, Mitzi (Larry) Nolen of Garland; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 2pm in Prestonwood Baptist Church – North Campus, 1001 W. Prosper Trail, Prosper, TX 75078.
