Jim’s beloved wife and companion of nearly 46 years, Brenda Joyce Rogers and his daughters Delana Jane Veres and Deanna Joyce Fell survive him.
Jim was born February 2, 1947 in Flint, MI to John and Helen (Stegall) Rogers, and was raised by his mother and stepfather Ralph “Snooks” Stegall. Jim graduated from Grand Blanc High School. Jim served in the United States Army as a U.S. P.F.C., and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He married Brenda Joyce Lasley in Flint, MI, January 25, 1969. The arrival of twins, Delana and Deanna, in 1970 completed their family. Jim retired from General Motors after 31 years of dedicated service. Jim and Brenda thoroughly enjoyed retirement and their time shared on the lake in Gladwin, MI and Zephyrhills, FL. They moved to Little Elm, TX to be close to their family in July of 2013. Jim was a member of New Walk Church in Zephyrhills and also Hope Fellowship in Frisco where he served on the greeting committee. Jim savored time with friends and family. Jim especially loved attending his grandsons sporting events. He also enjoyed time on the golf course, bowling, hunting, and relished his remodeling projects. Jim was a devoted husband, adored father, treasured papa and a friend to so many. While Jim was a man of few words, his actions spoke volumes about him. He was always quick to lend a hand to anyone that asked and also those who didn’t.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda Rogers; daughters, Delana Jane Veres (Damon), Deanna Joyce Fell (Heath); grandchildren, Jacob and Dalton Veres, Maddie Fell; brothers Don (Kathy), Jack (Pat), Ralph (LaDonna), Tom (Mary); sisters Phyllis Fischer, Barbara Franks (Bill), Sandy; nieces, nephews, and countless other family and friends. His mother Helen Stegall, brother Bob Rogers, brother-in-law Clarence Martin, preceded Jim in death.
