Jared Timothy Nelson passed from this life on to his eternal home on April 14, 2019. Jared, who was 44 years old, was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 28, 1974 to Allan Harold and Emma Ann (Sanders) Nelson. He was the sixth of eight children. With five older brothers and sisters as well two younger sisters, Jared stood out as a child as being curious, talkative, full of life, and mischievous.
Jared grew up in Salt Lake City, UT and Hurricane, UT. When he was 3 ½ years old, he loved wearing his ding bat hat while riding his tricycle around the neighborhood trying to follow his brothers to their friend’s houses. He mirrored the hat wearing in his adulthood as he was always wearing a baseball cap as much as he could get away with. Jared graduated from Hurricane High School in Hurricane, UT with the Class of 1993. He worked as a Real Estate Appraiser for the past 17 years and owned his own Appraisal Business.
Those who knew Jared said he was a loving, generous, quiet around others, but loved having a good time with family and friends. He loved the outdoors – camping, hiking, fishing and driving around in his Jeep. Jared also enjoyed playing games, golfing and especially hanging out with his wife and son. He also loved playing with his dogs, Kila and Cody.
In his spare time, Jared enjoyed fixing up and then driving his Jeep in the outdoors where he was the happiest. He also loved skiing, snowboarding, and skateboarding. Jared loved to travel especially anywhere he could find a beach. The family enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii which was his favorite place as well as Florida, Mexico and Aruba in the summertime. They also enjoyed visiting his family in the mountains of Utah particularly around Thanksgiving. He made attending the Octoberfest in Addison, TX an annual family tradition.
Jared grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a Mission for the Church in California when he was 19 years old. His favorite TV shows were Dexter and Breaking Bad. He enjoyed Rap music and listening to the Beastie Boys and Rage Against the Machine.
Jared married the love of his life, Emily Joy Bacsik on August 9, 2005 in Tucson, AZ and they were married for 13 years. They celebrated the birth of their son, Jared Robert Nelson on August 31, 2007 who is now 11 years old.
Jared is survived by his parents, Allan and Ann Nelson of Salt Lake City, UT; his spouse, Emily Nelson of Frisco, TX; his son, J.R. Nelson of Frisco, TX; his siblings, Wendy and her husband, Parker Selu of Salt Lake City, UT; Shannan and her husband, David Campbell of Salt Lake City; David and his wife, Erlene Nelson of Corpus Christi, TX; Mike and his wife, Tammy Nelson of Salt Lake City, UT; Tom and his wife, Tonya Nelson of Draper, UT; Alisa and her husband, Kelton Kleinman of Salt Lake City, UT; and Jana and her husband, Matt Bird of Salt Lake City, UT; and 33 nieces and nephews along with 11 great nieces and nephews. Also mourning his loss are his in-laws, Joe & Becki Bacsik of Garland, TX; Deborah Barnes of San Diego, CA; CJ Gaddis of Dallas, TX; Keith and Andi Gaddis of Austin, TX; Taylor and Kristi Gaddis of Elkin, NC; and Robert and Marie Bacsik of San Diego, CA as well as his dog, Cody.
Jared was loved while he was with us here on earth, and he will be continued to be loved through time and eternity. We will all miss him.
