Jean Longton Litton

June 29, 1927 – June 7, 2026
Obituary of Jean Longton Litton
IN THE CARE OF

Stonebriar Funeral Home and Cremation Services

Lulu Jean Longton Litton passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026 in Frisco, Texas. Jean was born June 29, 1927 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Lillian Stegner Longton and Charles Albert Longton. She was married to her college sweetheart, James “Tex” Litton, for 71 years at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana.

Preceded in death by her daughter Penny Kay Litton Schofield and husband Tex. Surviving are her daughter and daughter’s husband Pebba Sue Yenny and Thomas F. Yenny, son James Ray Litton, her son-in-law, Guy Schofield, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many beloved nephews and nieces.

Jean was born with a lovely voice and sang her first solo in her father’s church at the age of four. She sang in churches with her two sisters in each of her father’s churches until their passing. Jean then organized a musical trio, traveling to different churches to perform, also singing at many weddings and funerals. In between having her children, Jean worked at two Dallas law firms and later got her real estate license so she could have more time to spend with family, her main love.

Much to the delight of her family she was a wonderful cook and arranged dinner parties for family and friends well into her 90’s. Jean enjoyed living in the Dell Webb Frisco Lakes community where she and her neighbors would host a weekly driveway group, weather permitting, bringing their own patio chairs to visit. She made many friends there, playing bridge at the community center and attending monthly ladies luncheons at various restaurants around Frisco.

Meme, as named by her oldest granddaughter, will be missed but her family knows she’s happy to reunite with Papa and Penny.

A private burial will be held on June 25, 2025 at Dallas/Ft Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

A celebration of Jean's life will be held on July 18, 2026 at 10:30am at Stonebriar Funeral Home located at 10375 Preston Rd, Frisco, TX 75033.

We are asking all guest instead of funeral black, the family asks you wear your best Jean outfit! So ladies, don't forget your lipstick
